Duran Duran
Duran Duran · New Wave/Synth-pop
Duran Duran's self-titled debut was recorded at Red Bus and Utopia Studios in London and Chipping Norton Recording Studios in Oxfordshire with producer Colin Thurston (fresh off David Bowie, Magazine and the Human League), with singer Simon Le Bon nearly replaced early on before EMI's Dave Ambrose intervened; the album reached #3 in the UK and, after a 1983 US reissue riding the success of Rio, cracked the Billboard Top 10 with the addition of 'Is There Something I Should Know?'
