Recorded in a frantic seven weeks at his brand-new Paisley Park Studios after Prince abruptly shelved the darker, funk-heavy 'Black Album,' Lovesexy replaced it with a spiritually charged, positivity-themed record sequenced as one continuous piece per side (early CDs even ran it as a single unbroken track) and produced the worldwide top-10 hit 'Alphabet St.'
