Doubling as the soundtrack to Prince's directorial debut 'Under the Cherry Moon,' Parade traded Purple Rain's guitar-rock for austere funk, baroque pop and French-flavored soundtrack cues, and delivered his first Billboard Hot 100 number one with the stripped-down, falsetto-driven 'Kiss' -- NME later named it Album of the Year.
