Jones's fourth album marked her reinvention from disco singer to new-wave icon, recorded at Chris Blackwell's Compass Point Studios in Nassau with the newly assembled Compass Point All Stars (Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Wally Badarou, Barry Reynolds), reworking songs by The Normal, The Pretenders, Roxy Music and Tom Petty into a stark, reggae-inflected new-wave sound that became her UK breakthrough via the single 'Private Life.'
