Brooklyn group Newcleus (formed from the Christian-themed Positive Messengers) built their debut around the smash 'Jam On It,' whose pitched-up 'wikki-wikki' vocal hook and robotic, video-game-inspired electro sound became one of the most sampled and imitated tracks of the electro-funk era, even as the group has said Sunnyview Records locked them out of the actual mixing sessions.
