Spandau Ballet were an English pop band formed in Islington, London, in 1979, emerging from the city's post-punk club scene as figureheads of the New Romantic movement. The classic lineup—Tony Hadley (vocals), Gary Kemp (guitar), Martin Kemp (bass), Steve Norman (saxophone), and John Keeble (drums)—peaked commercially with the 1983 album True, whose title track topped the UK chart and reached the US top 5. The band sold over 25 million albums worldwide and performed at Live Aid in 1985.
