Japanese singer (Ohashi Junko, born April 26, 1950 in Yubari, Hokkaido; died November 9, 2023) renowned for her powerful vocals in the city pop, kayokyoku and J-pop genres. She debuted in 1974 on Philips Records with Feeling Now and became one of city pop's pioneering female voices, blending Western soul and R&B influences with Japanese lyricism across a catalogue of more than 20 studio albums, including her best-known hit 'Silhouette Romance' (1981) and the 1984 album Magical.
