Recorded at their own Kling Klang studio in Düsseldorf and released 11 May 1981, Kraftwerk's eighth album built an entire concept record around the rise of home computing, and its icy synth-funk backbone (especially 'Numbers' and 'Computer Love') would go on to be sampled directly by Afrika Bambaataa's 'Planet Rock' the following year, cementing Kraftwerk's outsized influence on electro and early hip-hop.
