Born Jesse Bonds Weaver Jr. on June 22, 1962, in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; self-produced, released and distributed his own early singles, teaming with DJ Code Money for scratches. His 1985 track "P.S.K. What Does It Mean?" -- referencing Philadelphia's Park Side Killers gang -- is widely regarded by historians and by Ice-T himself (who has credited it as a direct influence on "6 in the Mornin'") as the first gangsta rap record, predating N.W.A and the West Coast scene by several years. He later composed the original theme for Aqua Teen Hunger Force and remains active as a musician and visual artist.
